Let’s chat with Flavia
Hi creators! My name is Flavia. I started getting into commercial photography while studying for my degree in Advertising in Rosario, Argentina, back in 2007, as it was part of the curriculum.
I became so passionate about it that I soon began working for stock photography agencies while finishing my studies, and I continued pursuing it as a side activity even after graduating and starting my career.
Finally, in 2014, I left my job in advertising to dedicate myself entirely to photography, launching my own studio where I merge my two passions: visual storytelling and crafting clear, impactful advertising messages.
Since then, I’ve loved this career, which has given me the freedom to move countries (I currently live in Italy with my husband and son) and spend quality time with my family while continuing to do what I enjoy most—helping brands visually convey their stories and connect with their audience through photos and videos.

My journey started with food photography, and over time, I expanded into other product categories. I love variety—the challenge of creating photos and videos for different products keeps my days exciting, always giving me something new to learn or a chance to apply my knowledge in fresh ways.
From cosmetics and nutritional supplements to pet food and even cars, I enjoy working across different industries. The common thread is that all my work is commercial photography and videography, where I blend brand identity with my own creative vision.
Describing my personal aesthetic is something I’ve always found challenging to answer—it’s often easier to identify an aesthetic in someone else’s work than in your own. Plus, my style is often influenced by the brand’s visual identity for each project. That said, I would describe my aesthetic as colorful, bold, playful, refined, and rich in texture. I’m meticulous about details and always pay close attention to lighting, ensuring that every element is carefully considered to create visually compelling content.

Journey with Creatively Squared

I first discovered Creatively Squared back in 2019 while searching for platforms that provided pre-defined briefs for content creation. I had just become a mom, and the idea of dealing directly with clients felt overwhelming, but I didn’t want to put my passion aside. At the time, I was living in Argentina and I completed my first Creatively Squared project, which only fuelled my determination.
Since moving to Italy less than two years ago, I’ve had the opportunity to work on many more projects through the platform. Each one has been unique, bringing new challenges that have helped me grow and step outside my comfort zone.
As a Latina, embracing new risks is in my DNA. Here, I found an incredible community of creators and account managers—it’s truly a dream to work with them. Every day, I see inspiring work from fellow creators that motivates and uplifts me, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with major brands.

The most challenging briefs I’ve worked on for Creatively Squared were definitely for Plasmon. Before that, I had only photographed my own child and didn’t have much experience working with models in general.
These projects pushed me out of my usual workflow, requiring me to plan everything meticulously in advance to capture great shots in a short amount of time. With young children, especially when food is involved, you don’t get endless opportunities—they won’t stay in front of the camera for long, so everything needs to be well-prepared beforehand.
It was a demanding yet incredibly rewarding experience that helped me grow as a creator.
Tools of the trade
I normally shoot with a Canon R5 and select my lenses based on the subject. For studio sessions, I rely on Godox strobes or continuous lighting. For photos, I always use a tripod and connect my iPad to the camera, or tether the camera to my computer. This setup allows me to easily style the scene and view it on a larger screen. For video work, I often use a gimbal to ensure added stability.
When it comes to editing, I typically use Lightroom and finish with Photoshop for final touches. For video editing, I work in Adobe Premiere. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with After Effects and other software, which is opening up endless creative possibilities for content creation.

I love working in my studio, as it allows me to efficiently control the lighting, which is crucial for achieving the results I want. Although I do wish the space were a bit larger—it’s just one regular room in my apartment—it has everything I need to create great work. I enjoy the flexibility and control it offers, making it an ideal environment for my creative process.

The vast majority of my images are shot in my little home studio, where I also handle pre-production and post-production for all my content. I love that it’s such a versatile space—cozy and bright, with views of the forest (coming from a big city, I really enjoy living in the mountains now). This natural inspiration is a huge boost for my creativity. Additionally, I can block all the windows for complete control over the lighting when I’m doing photoshoots.
Flavia’s creative process
When photoshooting for Creatively Squared, I always follow the brief to the letter. Once the required shots are completed, I give myself some creative freedom to push the boundaries a bit further. This is why I typically send three times the amount of material requested, giving the team a variety to choose from. I don’t usually make sketches, but I always create a moodboard and a shot list to guide the process. For me, pre-production is key to a successful shoot, and with Creatively Squared, a huge part of it is already taken care of by the account manager.
Fun fact: I used to be a one-woman team for a very long time, but lately, I’ve been relying on my husband, who now works with me in the studio, assisting with all stages of production. Depending on the project, I’ve also started delegating some tasks to freelancers hired per project, as I’ve realised that for me, it’s the best way to grow without driving myself crazy!
If I ever hit a creative block, I step away for a bit and take a walk in nature—it helps clear my mind and reset my creativity. When I come back, I make myself a cup of tea (sometimes paired with a piece of chocolate), light a candle, put on some quiet music, and start again. This little ritual helps me relax, refocus, and get back into the creative flow.

Finding inspiration
I follow A LOT of creators I admire: Amanda Campeanu, Nikki Astwood, Sigourney Whitesel, Paloma Rincon, Marti Sans, Gemma Wood, Marta Mauri and the list goes on.
Top creative tip
Push your boundaries just a little further than what the client brief originally asks for—your best photo or video is often found in that extra creative effort.

Lastly, what’s next for you?
This year, I want to keep learning new techniques and improving my lighting and editing skills—there’s always so much to study and new trends to explore.
I also want to step up my studio’s marketing and social media presence. At the end of the day, clients hire you for what you can do, and to showcase that, you need to put your work out there.
Being a multitasking one-woman team has made this challenging, but I hope to overcome it soon! That’s why working with platforms like Creatively Squared, which handle negotiations for me, has been such a great and effective help.
Thank you Flavia for being one of the most inspiring creators at Creatively Squared.
We have always been impressed by your creativity and we are so lucky to have you in our creator community.
